There are 39 MHMR community centers in Texas that provides community-based services across all 254 Texas counties. MHMR centers help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, serious mental illness and substance use disorders.
Metrocare is the largest provider of mental health services in Dallas County, serving more than 57,000 adults and children annually. For over 50 years, Metrocare has provided an array of services available to people with mental and developmental disabilities. In addition to behavioral health services, Metrocare provides primary care centers for adults and children, accessible pharmacies, housing and supportive social services. Through the Altshuler Center for Education & Research, we are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County.
The Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas is located in Dallas, Texas. However, we answer calls throughout the Metroplex as well as calls for two national crisis lines. We have been in continuous operation since 1968.
To improve the health, safety, and well-being of Texans through good stewardship of public resources, and a focus on core public health functions.

Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center (DARCC) is committed to the prevention of sexual violence in north Texas and compassionately serving those impacted by it.
Our staff and trained advocates are available to help those impacted by sexual violence navigate the journey of healing in a safe and confidential environment. Sexual violence doesn’t discriminate. We serve all individuals who have been impacted by sexual violence with respect and compassion. This includes women, men, the LGBTQ+ community, immigrants, refugees, and all other survivors of sexual violence.

TAASA is the unifying voice to eliminate sexual violence in Texas. As the statewide coalition of rape crisis centers, advocates, and survivors, we are committed to fostering a culture that respects the fundamental rights and dignity of all Texans. The Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA) is the statewide organization committed to ending sexual violence in Texas. A non-profit educational and advocacy organization based in Austin, TAASA member agencies comprise a statewide network of more than 80 crisis centers that serve rural as well as metropolitan areas.
