DuPage County Mental  Health Department Crisis Unit

Behavioral Health Services provides a wide range of services for DuPage County residents who are experiencing symptoms related to mental health or substance use, which may be impacting your daily life. Our staff work with you to develop goals that best meet your needs and improve your overall health and well-being. McHenry County Crisis Line

The Crisis Line serves as the first point of contact for callers in need of immediate assistance and is a crucial part of the mental health emergency services in McHenry County. Crisis line professionals are available to help people with intense personal, family and/or marital problems.

McHenry County Youth Service Bureau

The McHenry County Youth Service Bureau was founded in 1975 by a citizen’s group interested in assuring the availability of affordable counseling services for young people of the county and their families. Services include school and community-based prevention programs, group, individual and family counseling services, substance abuse prevention and intervention, delinquency intervention services, psychiatric medication management, home and community based case management and crisis stabilization services.

Our programs uniquely covers identification, prevention and support.

Emergency Medical Care, North Suburban Chicago
NorthShore University HealthSystem, Department of Psychiatry  and Crisis Intervention

The Access Center/Crisis Intervention Service Team provides: 

  • 24 hour coverage, 7 days a week
  • A Crisis Hotline for those in psychiatric crisis
  • Emergency psychiatric evaluations to patients in the Emergency Department at all four Northshore Hospitals
  • Short term counseling
  • Evaluation and outpatient crisis counseling
  • Emergent medical social service calls
  • Workshops on crisis-related subjects to various hospitals and community groups.

OMNI Youth Services: available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

At OMNI Youth Services, it’s our mission to partner with parents and the community to provide innovative, transformational behavioral and educational support services to children, adolescents and young adults. Cook County Jail Mental Health Hotline

24/7 resource for families and friends of currently incarcerated inmates living with mental illness who are in need of special treatment and/or medication while in the Cook County Jail.

This hotline is supported by live team members – not automated voices. The hotline serves as a resource for families and friends of mentally ill detainees, allowing them to directly connect with OMHPA team members to communicate special needs and medications for their loved ones within the jail. Additionally, the hotline is open to former inmates coping with mental illness – providing counsel and resources to ensure that they get the treatment they need to sustain a healthy life and stay out of the jail.

Child Abuse Hotline

24/7 Illinois DCFS hotline to report child abuse or neglect. DCFS has the primary responsibility of protecting children through the investigation of suspected abuse or neglect by parents and other caregivers in a position of trust or authority over the child. if you suspect that a child has been harmed or is at risk of being harmed by abuse or neglect. If you believe a child is in immediate danger of harm, call 911 first. Your confidential call will not only make sure the child is safe, but also help provide the child’s family the services they need to provide a safe, loving and nurturing home.

Between Friends

24/7 domestic violence crisis line. We are here to listen and help. Whether you’re in an urgent crisis situation or healing from a past abusive relationship. Trained domestic violence staff and volunteers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week on our toll-free phone line. They provide emotional support, assistance with safety planning, and information about your legal rights, as well as matching and connecting you to Between Friends programs and/or other services, such as shelters, healthcare, employment services, or substance abuse treatment.

Chicago Rape Crisis Hotline

Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the Rape Crisis Hotlines provides survivors of sexual violence and their significant others immediate support, crisis intervention and referrals for the city of Chicago and surrounding suburbs. The volunteers and staff at the hotline have received extensive training in sexual assault crisis intervention.

The Chicago Rape Crisis Hotline is also the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN) affiliate for the city of Chicago.

Community Crisis Center of Elgin

Help for Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Homelessness and Suicide. Our Crisis Hotline is professionally staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Crisis Intervention Services are provided to callers from the greater Chicago Metropolitan area seeking help with situations including Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Homelessness, Suicide, and many other crises. In addition, Information and Referral services are provided as any lack of information regarding resources available is in itself a potential crisis.
