Developmental Disability Services - We offer a wide range of training and vocational services to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These services help individuals with disabilities find community employment and gain greater independence and quality of life through participation in community- and facility-based social, recreational, and vocational activities. Our programs, based on an individual's needs, range from coaching to more intensive levels of support. * Life Skills Development * Senior Services * Autism Services
Behavioral Health Services - Behavioral Health Services consists of a group of programs designed to help individuals in community settings and in their homes. Customized plans and goals help individuals achieve their goals and find solutions to the challenges they are facing. * School Based Prevention - Supported by United Way of McHenry County funding, this program provides small group facilitation to elementary, middle school and junior high children. Additionally, we offer professional consultation to school staff to present topical in-service and teacher institute material to address how to meet the ever-changing needs of students. * Youth Intensive Home Therapy - Intensive Home Therapy is a community/home-based behavioral health program providing therapeutic intervention to youth with a mental health diagnosis. The program assists families in identifying, accessing and utilizing community resources and supports. * Teenage Mother's Initiative (TAMI) - Parenting can be a stressful, confusing and lonely time. You are not alone with those feelings! Teenage Mother's Initiative (TAMI) is dedicated to helping pregnant and parenting teen moms and dads in McHenry County. * Youth Therapeutic Mentoring - The Therapeutic Mentoring Program is a community based program for children, ages 6 to 18, with a clinical diagnosis that calls for intensive training in daily living, social or communication skills. In many cases, these youth are best helped not just in a clinical setting, but rather in the settings that can be most difficult for them. * Child & Family Therapy Center - A comprehensive behavioral health program designed to provide therapeutic intervention in the lives of McHenry County youth and their families. Whether a young person is experiencing symptoms related to ADD or depression, our Child & Family Therapy Center can assist the youth in developing the insight, skills, and strategies to improve their functioning. Using evidence-based and evidence-informed approaches outpatient therapy provides high-quality intervention to improve the lives and futures of young people.
Fees and Payment
Our Child & Family Therapy Center is happy to offer a sliding fee scale to those who qualify. The sliding fee scale provides access to our services regardless of income or insurance provider. Proof of income is required to determine rates for services and will be needed before the scheduling of any appointments. Current insurance accepted: Medicaid (Meridian Health Plan, IlliniCare Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Harmony Health Plan, CountyCare Health Plan, Molina Health Care)

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
