70West is a faith based non-profit Counseling Center. Since 1995 70West has offered counseling services, support groups, and mental health education. Our purpose is to provide affordable effective counseling for individuals, children, and families who might otherwise be unable to afford professional counseling. Our therapists are Christians by faith; however it is our goal to honor the personal beliefs of all the clients we serve. As a full service center we offer counseling for people of all ages, stages, and transitions in life. We provide a safe warm and inviting atmosphere, we are dedicated to strengthening, educating, and bringing healing to our clients and their families. Our counselors work under the general direction of the Executive Director and also the Clinical Supervisor in assisting with providing quality care, to those seeking counseling at 70West. This is accomplished through successfully serving in areas of new client processing, conducting intake interviews, compiling files (including new client information, client case history, and release forms), and general client/counselor relations. The clinician may also assist in leadership of support groups and in team counseling situations. 70West clinicians preform individual and group counseling responsibilities under the supervision of an approved educational institution and as directed by the site Supervisor.

Addictions Counseling - Drugs and alcohol kill the pain of ordinary life, they destroy the physical and emotional pain by changing an addicts perception on life. Drugs and alcohol make the drug addict or alcoholic become numb to the pain, unhappiness, or hopelessness that is a part of their lives. Our drug & alcohol abuse counseling program can provide a path of recovery and healing.
Individual Counseling - 70west Counseling provides individual therapy for those struggling with life issues - or anyone hoping to strengthen self-esteem, foster better communication, or change beliefs or behaviors. Our therapists work with you to develop an action plan that will help you fulfill your true potential. We walk alongside people in order to hear, understand, and then help. We focus on solutions: we help you set goals, make changes, and grow rather than staying stuck in endless discussions about "the problem." Focused one-on-one counseling helps you make changes. Your sessions are tailored specifically to you, and are designed to address the issues that you want to solve.
Marriage Counseling - Most people desire a satisfying marriage that lasts a lifetime. Yet couples marrying today have a 50% chance of getting divorced. Many couples that do not divorce wind up staying together, but remain unhappy and unfulfilled for years. The damaging effects of destructive marital conflict and divorce on spouses and children include economic problems, medical problems, spiritual problems and mental health problems.
Family Counseling - Counseling is offered to families to provide emotional support, education and guidance for a variety of concerns confronted by today's families. The process and workings of family counseling are often very challenging for family members as well as for the counselor.
Teen Counseling - The transition from childhood to adulthood, better known as the teenage years, is a critical time in everyone's life. This is when young adults begin to form their own unique identity that defines who they are. This stage is not only troublesome for teenagers but parents as well. Teens may begin to challenge parents and other adult authorities, which tests their boundaries but can fuel many arguments. Although it can be a trying time, it can also be amazing to watch your adolescent transition into a young adult.
Depression Counseling - Our counselors provide depression counseling for those suffering and desire healing. Bummed, down, depressed, fatigued, upset, bored, low energy. Are these ways you have described yourself? All of these are words that can relate to the experience of depression. Our down moods lie along a continuum from mildly down to severely depressed.
Child and Adolescent Counseling - Children and teenagers face many of the same issues adults do, the difference is they have fewer skills, and fewer life experiences, and fewer resources to help them cope. As parents, we realize it can be scary for us to see our children dealing with some of these issues.
Group Counseling - Our group counseling session here at 70West usually have five to eight members who gather weekly for an hour and a half to two hours to talk freely about their feelings in a safe environment. Some groups will generate topics for discussion based on what concerns are being shared, while other groups may already have a set theme or topic for that session. One of our trained counselors will lead the group, guiding the discussion. Each group session, who is there, and what is discussed during the group session are kept strictly confidential.

Qualifying for assistance from Colorado's program usually depends on the severity of your condition and financial circumstance. Read our full guide to Colorado's program.
A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
