Services Offered
Struggles in the classroom or with school success could be a sign that a child needs some mental health support. KVC Missouri’s Student Support Services program works within the school setting to ensure students receive the mental health services they need.
In partnership with the Ferguson-Florissant School District, this program provides access to mental health services to specific populations of children who are underserved in general.

How it works:
- Students are referred to the program by school administrators, teachers, social workers or counselors.
- A KVC Missouri therapist conducts a mental health screening and assessment of the student, with parent/guardian permission.
- Students receive one hour of individual therapy each week during the school day, based on their specific mental health needs.
How it helps:
- The program creates a “web” of mental health support that includes:
- Collaboration with the student’s education team to monitor progress and develop effective classroom and therapeutic strategies.
- Ongoing communication with the family about the student’s treatment goals and progress.
- Referrals to other community-based resources for additional mental health support.
