Hillcrest Children and Family Center (Hillcrest Center) is a behavioral health care and social services agency that provides behavioral health treatment and prevention as well as community and family support services. We are a private non-profit organization founded in 1815 by First Lady Dolley Madison and chartered by an Act of Congress. Throughout its history, Hillcrest Center has offered primary prevention and mental health services to children and families. With a commitment to provide each client with the highest quality, cost effective, and timely service to meet their needs, we promote wellness and the well-being of our service population, staff, and the general community.

Children Services Hillcrest Center prides itself on offering the community a continuum of mental health and substance abuse programs such as: - Individual, Group, and Family Therapy: Counseling for individuals, groups and families to resolve symptoms of behavioral, emotional, social, and cognitive disorders. - Psychiatric Evaluation: An assessment to determine the source of the emotional and behavioral concerns and determine appropriate course of treatment - Parenting Education: Individuals and groups learn and practice skills essential to successful child rearing and healthy family relationships. - Anger and Stress Management: Individual and group counseling is offered to youths whose anger is out of control and is contributing to problems at school, work, and in their personal relationships. - Youth Substance Abuse Treatment: Intensive Out-Patient group, individual and family services - Youth Substance Abuse Prevention: Assessments and basic education activities to delay the onset of experimentation with drugs and alcohol

Fees and Payment
Hillcrest Center has a sliding payment scale for individuals who do not have insurance but has some income. The rate of pay would be set based on your income. If you have no income, we will help identify resources that might cover the cost for your treatment. Services will not be denied due to your inability to pay.

Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
