Henry J. Austin Health Center, Inc. (HJAHC) is located in Trenton, New Jersey. Established in 1969 as Trenton's Neighborhood Health Center, HJAHC was incorporated in 1986 as a private, non-profit 501(c) (3) entity. The mission of Henry J. Austin Health Center is to provide patient-centered, comprehensive, accessible, efficient, quality primary care, mental health and substance abuse treatment services to the culturally diverse greater Trenton community. Services Offered
Mental and Behavioral Health - During your initial visit to HJAHC, all patients are screened for behavioral health conditions such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse etc., as part of our Integrated and Trauma Informed Care Programs. - At each location, there is a Behavioral Health Counselor who works alongside your primary care Provider and a support team to assist you. - HJAHC provides individual psychotherapy and psychiatric evaluations. - If required, the initial screen is followed up with medical care and referral to treatment that is responsive to your preferences in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner. - Patients also have access to COBALT which is an online behavioral therapy that is an alternative to therapy that patients can perform in the privacy and comfort of their homes or here in the center.

Most forms of health insurance including Medicare and Medicaid are accepted and there is a sliding fee scale for the uninsured. Henry J. Austin Health Center provides care to approximately 13,000 individuals annually generating more than 50,000 visits from four locations.

If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
