Adolescent Therapy helps teens over 12 years of age, to work through issues of trauma, stress, emotional, social, and intellectual obstacles; to increase their enjoyment in life, their ability to relax, and their ability to learn. Adolescent Therapists often blend Cognitive-Behavioral and Rational-Emotive approaches to expand adolescents' thinking, and to help them work through feelings and issues of identity in a healthy way.
Couples Therapy Couples Therapy helps couples of all types recognize their communication styles, patterns of conflict, methods of conflict resolution, and effective v. ineffective coping strategies.
Couples Counseling is usually brief and solution-focused. It gives couples the time, the structure, and the place to be reflective. Using instruments such as John Holland's RIASEC codes, the Strong Interest Inventory, and the Department of Labor's O*Net, professional career counselors interpret personality and occupational data to generate best-fit options, generating realistic plans to achieve a client's goals.
Fees and Payment
The cost of therapy will vary according to your insurance coverage. At West Texas Counseling & Guidance we offer a sliding scale system in order to accommodate those clients who do not have insurance or that might struggle with meeting the cost of having a co pay. We have payment assistance available to help offset the cost of therapy. Assistance might be an option to help with copays, even if you are covered by insurance. Ultimately, we don't want someone to miss out on getting the help they need just because of cost.

Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
