Texoma Community Center (TCC) is one of 39 Texas Community Centers, which are governmental entities as defined by Title 7 of the Texas Health and Safety Code. All client services are provider under this status. TCC also operates a 501.C.3 Non-profit for fundraising purposes. All fundraising activities and donations are provided under the Texoma Community Center Volunteer Services Council. The mission of the Texoma Community Center is to promote the accessibility of services that improve quality of life and support self-determination for persons with mental and developmental disorders.

Services Offered
Mental Health Service - The Adult Mental Health Services Division provides an array of services to adults 18 years of age and older who are suffering from severe depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorders or any other serious emotional symptoms that interfere with their daily activities. Treatment is individually designed to meet the specific needs of each person while promoting independence.
Mental Health First Aid - is a public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact and overviews appropriate supports. This 8-hour course uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to offer initial help in a mental health crisis and connect people to the appropriate professional, peer, social and self-help care. The program also teaches common risk factors and warning signs of specific illnesses like anxiety, depression, substance use, bipolar disorder, eating disorders and schizophrenia.
Substance Use Disorder Treatment Services - We are a recovery-oriented system of care and believe that individuals diagnosed with a substance use disorder have the ability to recover and deserve dignity and respect throughout their recovery process without the stigma traditionally attached to substance use disorders. We believe that each individual is unique, and that person-centered recovery should be inclusive of individual strengths and needs. We believe that there are many paths to recovery and we strive to provide multiple research-based practices in allowing individuals to determine the most effective path for themselves. We believe that the health, safety, and welfare of individuals in recovery is our guiding principle to direct client centered treatment. We strive to empower clients to achieve their highest level of functioning in all dimensions of wellness while achieving their treatment goals. We believe that non-judgmental, unbiased, respectful, trauma-informed and objective service delivery promotes efficacy of treatment. We understand that recovery from a substance use disorder is a process requiring investment, engagement, and a long-term commitment.
Child & Adolescent Services - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services offers comprehensive mental health services to children ages 3 to 17 who currently reside in Fannin, Grayson, or Cooke Counties.

Fees and Payment
Payers range from Medicaid and other state- or other public supported services to commercial private payers, self-pay patients, and sliding fee arrangements based on a family's ability to pay. We are also a nonprofit agency.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
