INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING
Individual counseling services offer a time for some one-to-one therapeutic support with a trained counselor. The needs of each person will determine what is covered in an individual session and the counselor will help identify and prioritize those needs. Some common issues that are addressed include: 1. Impact of alcohol/drug addiction 2. Concerns about other emotional or mental health issues 3. Strategies to support recovery 4. Relationship issues 5. Family issues, including parenting and reunification needs 6. Relapse prevention 7. Treatment planning 8. Goal setting
GROUP COUNSELING
Group counseling is a cornerstone of addiction treatment and has been shown to be tremendously helpful in achieving recovery. Many of our groups use 12-Step CBT or other evidence based curricula. In our group counseling sessions, the power of the group is unleashed and it is a safe place to explore issues such as: 1. Impact and consequences of addiction 2. Symptoms associated with addiction and other emotional or mental health issues 3. Strategies to deal with difficult emotions, thoughts, and behaviors 4. Anger management 5. Spirituality 6. Parenting 7. Life skills 8. Coping skills 9 Community resources and support
In addition to the above, we offer special groups that deal with shoplifting.
CASE MANAGEMENT
The Recovery Council provides individualized, comprehensive case management services to help re-build a solid foundation to support recovery, wellness and health.
MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Mental Health services are provided to support people in their journey to manage other emotional and mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, or trauma. Our trained staff can help develop an individualized treatment plan to address those issues and help develop individualized strategies to deal with difficult symptoms. Our licensed staff can provide services specifically tailored to tackle different disorders. Services provided include: 1. Assessment 2. Treatment planning 3. Individual counseling 4. Group services 5. Referrals, as needed OUTPATIENT SERVICES
Outpatient Services are offered to men, women and adolescents and are located in Ross and Pike County. Our professional staff is trained to recognize and diagnose the symptoms of alcohol and chemical dependency or abuse. We have verified LSW, LPCC, LICDC, LCDCII, LICDCIII, and CDCA personnel available to all clients. We work with various social agencies including Children's Services, Job and Family Services, County and Common Pleas Courts, Brigdehaven, Community Action and many others. We rely on several local agencies for services that we are unable to offer so that the client gets the help that best fits their needs.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
