Center for Somatic Psychotherapy - The Center for Somatic Psychotherapy offers high-quality body-mind-spirit psychotherapy. We welcome individuals, couples and partners, youth, and families of all ages, genders, racial and cultural backgrounds, bodily expressions, and sexual orientations.
Our therapists are trained in both conventional and body-oriented counseling and psychotherapy. Our approach integrates basic therapeutic models with movement and breath practices, sensory awareness, and other somatic modalities. The Center provides a safe and supportive setting for the exploration of a wide range of life's issues-emotional, interpersonal, and developmental.

Integral Counseling Centers - CIIS Integral Counseling Centers have been offering mind-body-spirit psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families in the Bay Area for more than 25 years, providing a safe and supportive setting in which clients can explore a wide range of life issues- emotional, interpersonal, psychological, and spiritual.

Psychological Services Center - PSC is a community-based mental health clinic that serves the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We believe that mental health care is a human right. Our specialty is in-depth, traditional talk therapy focused on mind, body, and spirit.
The Clinic Without Walls - TCWOW is the practicum site of the Community Mental Health program. Situated in low-income housing sites within San Francisco, TCWOW aims to provide psychological services to underserved communities. The Clinic endeavors to make therapy accessible to people who have been denied services on the basis of stigmatization, discrimination, and/or socioeconomic factors. Further, the clinic seeks to serve children, adults, and families by identifying and addressing mental health issues within the Bay Area community.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
