Salem Pastoral Counseling Center has been in existence for over 30 years providing quality professional and faith-based counseling to the greater Salem area. We are conveniently located in South Salem. Our well-trained and licensed therapists provide counseling for a wide variety of individual, relationship, and family issues in an atmosphere of confidentiality, acceptance, trust, and understanding.

Premarital Counseling includes the PREPARE/ENRICH or the SYMBIS relationship inventory. Both assessments have itemized questions that measure the couple's agreement in multiple areas that include:
marital expectations
personality issues
communication
conflict resolution
financial management
leisure activities
sexual relationship
children and parenting
family and friends
role relationships
spiritual life
how personalities mesh
This premarital preparation program will give you the opportunity to assess your relationship, build on your strengths as a couple, gain communication skills, and develop a vision for your marriage.
Community Services
Workshops, classes, seminars, and trainings for businesses and churches that can cover a variety of topics for personal enrichment, parenting, family life, and other topics that enable people to care for one other.
Fees for counseling services are $175.00 for the initial session and $150.00 for each subsequent individual session. Some adjustment in fees is possible in cases of need and when discussed in advance with the counselor. Payments are made by personal check, cash, or credit card at the time of the appointment. However, by arrangement with the counselor, payment may be spread over a period of months.
The fee for the 4-Session premarital program is $335. These fees include the scoring of the inventories and the four sessions with one of our counselors.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
