Serenity Lane was established as a private, not-for-profit treatment center for alcoholism and drug abuse in 1973 by Dr. Thomas A. Kerns. Sam Graves of Heartview Foundation, Mandan, North Dakota, was recruited to direct the Serenity Lane program. Serenity Lane has been licensed as a specialty hospital treating addiction since 1973 and all programs are accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). We are the only treatment center in Oregon that is fully licensed as a specialty hospital to do medical withdrawal support. We have a professional medical staff and 24-hour nursing care.

Outpatient Treatment -Outpatient treatment at Serenity Lane incorporates individualized treatment with flexible scheduling to accommodate various employment schedules, i.e. you live at home, and don't need to miss work. Outpatient treatment is effective, confidential and affordable.

Family Program -Serenity Lane's Family Program offers education and support for family members and significant others of patients with alcohol or other drug addictions.
Fees and Payment
Because Serenity Lane is a non-profit organization, we are able to keep our fees at the lowest possible level. We are in-network for most major insurance providers, further reducing out-of-pocket costs for our patients.
Historically, insurance reimbursement is approximately 70% to 75% of the total treatment charges, depending on the plan benefits.

We do not accept Medicare. -Serenity Lane offers discounted rates and payment plans for qualifying patients. -Serenity Lane is a TRICARE provider for plans managed by Managed Health Network and Health Net. We are proud to provide care to those who have served and their families.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
