Mental & Behavioral Health
Whether you are dealing with a Serious Mental Illness or facing the challenges associated with issues such as grief, anxiety, or depression, Preferred Family Healthcare provides an array of behavioral and mental health services.
In Arkansas, PFH operates over 40 clinics and service sites throughout the state. We offer a variety of traditional behavioral health services to individuals, families, and groups. Health Resources of Arkansas is a community mental health provider for 15 counties of north central Arkansas. Our clinical staff work with individuals and their families who are dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, or may be dealing with substance use or a psychosis. Unique programs in Arkansas include school-based services for adolescents and a day rehabilitation program for adults
In Missouri & Illinois, Clarity Healthcare provides various behavioral health services.
In Missouri, Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation covers 21 counties and services adults and adolescents with a serious mental illness (SMI). With physical locations in Hannibal, Kirksville, and Trenton, we offer day programs while also operating a Residential Care Facility in Kirksville.
In Oklahoma, Dayspring Community Services operates behavioral health clinics offering a variety of services; however, our professional staff can also be found in schools, homes, and settings throughout our service area. We also offer extensive bilingual services (Se habla español).

In the St. Louis Region, Bridgeway Behavioral Health operates Adult substance use services while our Adolescent services operate under the Preferred Family Healthcare name. Also, in the St. Louis region Team of Concern (TOC) provides school based preventive education.

Fees and Payment
At Preferred Family Healthcare, we:

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
