Individual Counseling At TGC, we take a holsitic approach to individual counseling; considering all the factors: Your enviroment, your history, your current struggles and where your strenghts are. Together we work with you to set goals, create positive change, improve self esteem and master communicating to others in your life.
Couples Counseling Relationship counseling is at the heart of what we do at Transformative Growth Counseling. Our counselors, interns and psychologists undergo rigiouros coursework and live training in emotionally focused couples therapy and Gottman Method.
Child & Youth Counseling We will work together to give your child or teen, the tools he or she needs in order to deal with underlying issues caused by bullying, school stress, conflict, definance and traumatic events. Play Therapy and Attachement-based Psychotherapy are therapies that are proven to work, providing a safe, healthy outlet for children and adolescents to process feelings and regain self-control of emotions and stressful situations.
Family Counseling We expect and encourage you to bring your entire family (whomever is involved in the family unit struggles) to your counseling session. Everyone's experience matters, and we need to know how each and every one of you are feeling and experiencing one another, so we can develop a strategy that works for all of you to improve communication, coping skills, conflict resolution, and trust.
LGBTQIA Counseling We have several LGBT, Poly and kink- idenitfied counselors and LGBT-ally counselors who specialize in LGBT-specific issues and relationships. From first identiftying one's sexuality or gender, to living an open, and fullfilling life as your true self, we understand the process you're going through, and how to help you move through the stages that come along with major shifts in the development of one's identity.
Trauma & PTSD All of our therapists, psychologists and interns at Transformative Growth Counseling, are trained in the clinical treatment of trauma, PTSD, acute stress and adjustment disorders. Through a variety of methods; from play therapy, exposure, and Rapid Resolution Trauma Therapy, and somatic therapies, we can help you understand the roots of your trauma and how to take control of the effects.
Addiction Counseling We can help you in your recovery program by creating a personal treatment plan that will fit your needs, and into your daily schedule. We can help you cope with triggers and the stressors that cause the urges to use or "act" upon the harmful behahaviors. We can help you communicate to your family what your needs are, and regain trust with proven strategies that help you overcome addiction.
Fees and Payment
We accept insurance, self-pay and will work with out of network plans. Insurance usually covers the your counseling fees, minus any deductibles or co-pays. Most plans have out of network benefits that can be accessed, giving you more freedom to choose where you go.
We are in network with: Aetna, Allied Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Compsych, and United Behavioral Health, HealthLink, and Optum.
Even if we are not in network with your insurance, most insurance plans have out of network benefits. We offer sliding scale services for those with medicaid/medicare or self pay experiencing financial difficulty. Please inquire with our office about applying. We no longer bill medicaid directly.
You can also use your Flex card or HSA, cash, check or debit/credit card. Payment is due at the time services are delivered.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
