Each year we grant Top Non-Profit Badges to agencies based on these criteria:
- Consistently accepting clients
- Offering a wide range of services e.g. marriage counseling and child counseling as reported by our users.
- Our users reporting affordable services.
Our aim is to guide our users to agencies most likely to be able to help. In addition to the above criteria we also exercise editorial discretion with our choice based upon our experience. We take our responsibility and objectivity seriously. We don't accept any form of payment from providers for this honor.

THERAPHY
Individual
Individual therapy involves working on a one-on-one basis with a therapist to plan and to create positive changes in your life.
Couples
We help understand the emotional needs of each partner, meet each other's need, and learn tools to negotiate differences, problem solve and work through conflict in a healthier way to gain and maintain a deeper level of intimacy and closeness.
Child
It is common for children to experience problems as they grow and mature. They encounter struggles with parents, peers and teachers, as well as the natural pressures of growing up and fitting in. At times, a child's response to life pressures or the severity of these pressures warrants professional attention. Our child therapists possess specialized knowledge and skills enabling them to formulate appropriate interventions for your child.
Family
Family therapy can assist in resolving conflict, improving communication, and finding ways to problem solve together.
2 Have & 2 Hold Marriage Preparation Program
Our Marriage Preparation Program will help you and your partner build a solid foundation for your future, focused on mutual understanding, respect and support.
We are contracted with many local and national insurance companies. Because each of your contracts are different, we cannot tell you exactly what will be covered until we verify your benefits. As a courtesy to you, we will verify and submit your insurance claims. However, please remember that our relationship is with you and not your insurance company.
We believe professional mental health care is a right and not a privilege. Therefore a sliding fee scale is available and designed to meet all financial situations.
Visa, Master Card, cash and check are accepted.

Qualifying for assistance from Oregon's program usually depends on the severity of your condition and financial circumstance. Read our full guide to Oregon's program.
A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
