Adults Our culture can sometimes tell us to be strong to get through difficult times. Emotional and relational pain can manifest because of stressful circumstances or past experiences. Professional counseling that considers your mind, body, and spirit can assist you in finaly finding real freedom from issues that you have struggled with. Lasting life changes can result from counseling. While it is never too late to come in, it can be especially rewarding to come to counseling as early as possible. Your counselor is your partner and together you can achieve the level of personal growth that may help to improve your quality of life.
Young Adults One of the greatest dreams of a teenager is graduating from high school and getting to move away from home. Once out of high school, opportunities often provide for great fun, learning, new relationships, and more independence. While the years between high school and turning thirty can be wonderful days in life, they are also filled with tremendous challenges.
Adolescents The adolescent years are often marked as a time of trial and tribulation. Adolescence is meant to be a time to discover and grow. However, adolescents often struggle through this process and need a professional to help them walk from childhood to young adulthood. There can be a variety of reasons an adolescent, or his parents, may feel counseling is appropriate for him. Counseling is a safe place for your adolescent to explore his thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about himself, family, and the world in which he lives.
Couples and Relationships When we get married, most of us believe that our love will be enough to get us through the difficult times in life and especially our marriage. Over time, problems may arise. There may be external stressors such as moves, long hours at work, unemployment, a sick child, struggles with extended family, or financial problems that put significant strain on a marriage.
Psychosocial Assessment
A Psychosocial Assessment is an evaluation of a person's mental health, social status, and functional capacity within the community. A psychosocial assessment is an evaluation of mental, physical, and emotional health. It considers the client's perception of self and his or her ability to function in the community.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
