The Psychology Clinic is the primary training facility for the doctoral students in Duquesne University's clinical psychology program. The doctoral students provide all services under the supervision of licensed clinical faculty members and selected licensed adjunct faculty psychologists in the community. Affordable services are available to Duquesne University students and employees as well as to the greater Pittsburgh Communities. Services are provided with exceptional respect for confidentiality and a commitment to diversity, and in a comfortable, pleasant setting.

Intake Fees: The Clinic standard Intake fee - $30 Fee Per Psychotherapy Session: The minimum psychotherapy session fee is $10. Student session fee: is $20.
For community members: $10 per session for annual incomes between $0 and $10,000, $20 for incomes between $10,000 and $20,000, $30 for incomes between $20,000 to $30,000, $40 for incomes of $30,000 and above.
PLEASE NOTE: Fees are paid at the time of visit. Except in the case of an emergency, if clients don't call at least 24 hours in advance to cancel appointment, there will be a $30.00 charge. Account balances may not be carried beyond four sessions, including those missed without advance notice.
The Psychology clinic accepts cash, check or credit/debit cards.

Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
