Ozark Center, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, has been providing behavioral health services in February 1965 and became an entity of Freeman Health System in 1996. We employ about 600 employees in 30 locations across Jasper, Newton, McDonald and Barton counties, and serve approximately 14,000 clients.

Family Services
Strengthening families Families may seek therapy when issues are not resolving on their own. In addition, if a family member is currently in therapy, his or her therapist may ask the entire family to assist in his or her recovery.
Through therapy, families can address issues such as: -Behavioral problems with children -Depression or anxiety symptoms in adults or children -Eating disorders -Co-occurring disorders (substance use and mental health disorders)
Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program
Ozark Center Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program offers outpatient counseling services and in-home support for children, adolescents, and their families. Our case managers provide in-home services, which can be combined with outpatient counseling to best meet the needs of the family. In-home services also offer resource linking to other systems such as schools, courts, local organizations and social services. Outpatient counseling services are provided by licensed counselors with many years of experience and expertise with family issues.

Fees and Payment
We accept medical insurance, Medicare and Medicaid. A sliding-fee scale based on your income is also available for qualified individuals. We also provide a number of business and financial services as a courtesy to patients: -Verification of insurance coverage -Estimates on charges for services -Estimates on the patient portion of charges, as determined by the patient's insurance plan -Billing of primary and secondary insurance carriers -Answering questions from insurance carriers -Providing itemized bills to patients, when requested -Financial assistance for qualifying patients -Payment plans

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
