Penndel Mental Health Center, Inc. is a private, non-profit community mental health center, which has been providing psychiatric and social services to residents of Lower Bucks County for over 40 years. Affiliated by contract with the Bucks County Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities since 1969, PMHC is one of three "base service units" in Bucks County whose mission is to make quality services readily available to all residents.
Penndel Mental Health Center is dedicated to promoting community well-being through the provision of comprehensive behavioral health treatment options, education and support to individuals and families of Lower Bucks County and the surrounding areas.

Adult Outpatient Psychiatry/Counseling Penndel offers a continuum of services to best serve community members as their treatment needs change over time. Following the Intake Process, eligible adults may be referred to a variety of treatment options to support their commitment to Recovery.
The Outpatient Services Department offers: * Psychiatric evaluations by Psychiatrists (Medical Doctors who have extensive training related to psychiatric disorders and other mental health issues) and other assessments by Psychologists (Doctoral level mental health professionals or specially licensed master- level clinicians). * Individual, Group, and Family/Couples Therapy, as well as Mobile Therapy services * Support from Certified Peer Specialists * Co-occurring Disorders Therapy ( Mental Health & Substance Abuse) * Medication management * Clozaril Support Services
Child Behavior Health Rehabilitative Services previously known as Wrap Around, are one of the services provided to children and adolescents ages 3-21 through the Division of Child and Family Services. Children and adolescents must have MA to be eligible for BHRS services. Children or adolescents with a primary psychiatric diagnosis are eligible to be evaluated by a license psychologist to determine medical necessity for service delivery. BHRS focuses on reducing or replacing problem behaviors with socially acceptable behaviors.

Fees and Payment
PMHC serves residents of Bucks County regardless of age providing treatment for many types of problems and disorders for both adults and children. We accept Medical Assistance (MA/ Medicaid/ Magellan), Medicare and a variety of private insurances. If you are uncertain as to any insurance/financial issues contact the intake line at 752-1541×1741 and leave a message. If you have no insurance your fees are based on your family income. Besides your financial information, you need to provide written proof that you have applied for Medical assistance before treatment can be provided. If you have no income please bring a notarized letter stating you are not working and have no income.

Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.

If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
