Services Offered

Mental Health
Mental health services are provided on an individual, family, and/or group setting. A sampling of mental health problems that are treated may involve depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflict, anger control, bipolar disorder, trauma, and grief. Childhood disorders such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, conduct and oppositional disorders, trauma, school and peer-related problems, and parent-child conflict are also treated in this program.

Outpatient Treatment
This assessment and treatment program is provided for adult and children who come to the center for general mental health issues. Services are provided in the BVBH offices. Sessions are 60 minutes and usually occur every one to two weeks.

Medication Management
Some mental health conditions respond best to a combination of therapy and medication. Our Medication Management program provides evaluation and prescription services for our client's medication needs.

Intensive Youth Treatment Services (IYTS)
This program is offered in the Beatrice office for youth, ages 8 to 18. It provides treatment in settings outside of the office (i.e. school, home).

Strong Ties Family Support Group (Lincoln Office)
Strong Ties is a free support group for spouses, siblings, children (age 18 and up), family members, friends and significant others who are involved with someone who is dealing with a mental illness.

Community Support
This adult program (19 and older) offers case management services to adult clients who have a severe and persistent mental illness. The purpose of the program is to assist clients to improve individual functional within their residence and community.

Youth Assistance Program (YAP)
The YAP is a school-based (K-12) intervention service that is coordinated with a school SCIP Team (or similar entity). This school team is able to help identify children who may be experiencing difficulties related to behavioral health issues.

Consultation Services
Consultation services make available the behavioral healthcare expertise of BVBH. Professional assistance is given to agencies and/or individual providers who have questions or concerns about their clients' behavioral functioning.

Telehealth Services
Blue Valley Behavioral Health (BVBH) is one of the leading behavioral health telehealth providers in Nebraska. Telehealth is when treatments services are provided over the internet (meeting Federally approved internet confidentiality and security standards) and the provider and client are in two different office sites. Both are able to see and communicate with each other over a monitor/screen and the session proceeds as if they were in the same room with one another.

Substance Abuse
Substance abuse services are provided on an individual, family, and/or group setting. Clients, or others affected by substance abuse, seek or are referred for these services when their functioning is negatively impacted by the abuse of alcohol and/or other drugs and is causing problems in different areas of their lives ( financial, health, legal, emotional, family, etc).

Services Available
Outpatient Treatment
This assessment and treatment program is provided for adult and youth who have been assessed to have substance abuse problems that can be addressed in this setting.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
This group focused program is provided to adult clients (19 and older) who require a higher level of care than outpatient treatment for their substance abuse needs.

Post IOP / Aftercare
This program is offered to adult clients (19 and older) who have recently completed treatment in the IOP, residential setting or require treatment in a group based environment. This treatment group occurs on a weekly basis.

Substance Abuse Education Group
This group is designed to address negative consequences from substance abuse.

Telehealth Services
Telehealth is when treatment services are provided over the internet (meeting Federally approved internet confidentiality and security standards) and the provider and client are in two different office sites.
BVBH has been able to integrate telehealth with several of their outpatient services (Mental Health/Substance Abuse Therapy, Substance Abuse Evaluations, and Medication Management) and can be provided in any of their 12 office locations in Southeast Nebraska.

Emergency Services
BVBH provides after-hours emergency services for all residents in our sixteen county area. Clients and providers may contact the emergency phone number to access on-call staff. Initial assessment of problems and risk will be completed over the phone. If further assessment or intervention is needed, BVBH staff will contact TASC crisis workers to meet the needs of the client.

Fees and Payment

Private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare or other third-party payers cover many services. A sliding scale fee is available to individuals meeting guidelines according to state and federal standards, as allowable by law. Blue Valley Behavioral Health is funded in part through Region V Systems and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Systems.
