Tri-County Community Action Agency is a non-profit agency developed under he Economic Opportunity Act of 1964.
The Agency provides a helping hand to individuals and families in need through agency services and referrals. One of the largest Community Action Agencies in the state, we coordinate over 50 programs and services allowing us to offer assistance throughout every stage of life; from pregnancy and early childhood development, to senior and disabled services.
Services Offered
Behavioral health treatment for individuals, couples and families.
Tri-County Community Health Centers offer behavioral health treatment options for patients that do not receive primary health care from a Tri-County primary healthcare provider. Treatment is provided by our team of highly trained and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Workers for a wide variety of behavioral health issues. We help individuals, couples, and families to build upon their strengths and to develop their problem solving skills so that they may enjoy a better quality of life, and more gratifying interpersonal relationships. Behavioral health treatment is offered for a wide variety of concerns including substance abuse treatment, anxiety and depression, relationship and family counseling, and stress and anger management. Treatment options are available to individuals, couples and families ages 5 and up. Providers utilize a strengths based approach to treatment and use a variety of treatment methods.
Fees and Payment
Any patient or client is eligible to receive behavioral health treatment at Tri-County Health Centers. If a patient does not have health insurance, they will be placed on a sliding scale for payment based on their income. No person will be denied services due to inability to pay.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
