THERAPY SERVICES The clinicians employed by Aspire Indiana strive to help clients make change in their lives as quickly and effectively as possible. Therefore, we use those therapies or "Evidence Based Practices" that have been well researched and have been found to have good clinical outcomes. The following are just some of the Evidence Based Practices our clinicians use: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) This therapy focuses on the role our thoughts and feelings play in our behavior. It is a focused, usually short term treatment option that is often more affordable than some other types of therapy that may take much longer to see results. Clinical outcomes are especially good when CBT is used with those who are experiencing depression or anxiety.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) This therapy is a collaborative, person centered approach designed to strengthen an individual's motivation for change and move them toward a specific goal by drawing out and exploring the person's own reasons for change.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) DBT is a Cognitive Behavioral approach focusing on the regulation of one's own emotions. It was designed for use in treating individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, but it has also been found helpful in treating those who engage in self-harm.
Cannabis Youth Treatment (CYT) Although initially designed to treat Cannabis use, this approach has been found to be effective in treating all forms of substance use disorders in adolescents. This approach, a combination of cognitive behavior therapy, motivational enhancement therapy, and relapse prevention therapy encourages clients to develop personal understanding and real life coping strategies needed to get off and stay off substances of abuse.
YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES Aspire has a broad continuum of home and community-based services for youth and families. We are closely aligned with the desires of those we serve - that families stay together, in their homes, schools, and communities, while obtaining the resources, skills, and interventions to function safely and adaptively with the challenges that arise in their lives. These services are offered through a variety of contracts and payors, for those youth and families that qualify.
SCHOOL-BASED SERVICES School-Based Services are those counseling services provided at a school facility. We treat children of all ages whose behavior and functioning has been impaired by a variety of symptoms associated with ADHD, anxiety, adjustment to trauma and loss, behavioral problems, depression, substance use, and thought disorders, as well as other issues.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
