Adult Services - Range from brief therapy for individuals and couples to intensive supports for individuals with severe, persistent mental illness.
Child & Adolescent Services - Good mental and physical health care is important at any age. Many of today's children and teenagers are faced with a great deal of stress in their home or school environments and as a result may be struggling with anxiety, depression or other emotional distress. Still others may be experiencing serious mood or thought disorders and could greatly benefit from early intervention and treatment. Greater Nashua Mental Health Center is committed to helping children and their families by providing a comprehensive array of mental health services and special programs.
Clinic based Services Offered:
* Individual, group and family therapy and case management * Dialectical behavioral and trauma-focused therapy * Psychiatric evaluation and medication management * Evaluation and treatment of substance abuse
Outreach Services Offered:
* Intensive home-based family treatment * Home or clinic-based crisis stabilization
Deaf Services - This program was developed to provide counseling and other mental health services using clinicians and interpreters who are fluent in American Sign Language. Our team provides culturally competent diagnostic treatment services to assist deaf children and adults with mental health disorders to become fully integrated members of their communities. Although our offices are in Nashua, we provide services throughout the state of New Hampshire.

We never turn anyone away due to the inability to pay for services. Whether uninsured or unable to pay for services, we welcome everyone who walks through our doors.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
