Services Offered
Individual & Family Counseling - Counseling services are provided to individuals of all ages, families, or groups in all of our locations or can be provided in-home if there are special circumstances limiting an individual's ability to complete sessions at our office. Clinicians who provide outpatient therapy services are appropriately licensed Professional Counselors, Clinical Social Workers or Marriage and Family Counselors.
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) - A hands-on, play-based model of therapy, to improve communication and relationships in families. It also helps redirect aggressive and hyperactive behavior in children.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) - A model of therapy designed to help children work through trauma they have experienced, and reduce any anxiety or trauma symptoms. Caregivers participate and support their child during therapy.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) - A short-term cognitive behavioral therapy program for adolescents and adults that assists them in reducing symptoms of trauma, PTSD, and related conditions.
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) - A model that uses advanced brain science to help work through trauma and reduce anxiety- or trauma-related symptoms.
Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient (SAIOP) - Structured individual, family, and group activities and services provided on an outpatient basis. Services are designed to assist individuals with addiction disorders to begin recovery. Some of the services we offer are: * Individual counseling and support * Group counseling and support * Family counseling, training, or support
The primary goal of SAIOP is abstinence from addictive substances. The secondary goals and outcomes may include sustained improvement in overall health, better relationships with family and friends, improvements in finding and maintaining work, reduced depression and anxiety (if present), and reduced risk of relapse in the future. SAIOP will be tailored to fit each clients needs by developing a Person-Centered Plan which helps one identify goals, needs, and preferences in one's treatment and life.
Fees and Payment
Our agency accepts: Medicaid, Medicare, NC Healthchoice, Medcost, Aetna, UBH/Optum, Carolina Behavioral Health Alliance, TriCare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Humana.
Private pay services are available at a discounted rate for those who cannot afford services and or do not have insurance or do not wish to use insurance.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
