Over the past four decades, Sierra Vista has grown into one of the largest nonprofit agencies in the region, serving on average more than 20,000 children and families each year with nearly 250 dedicated employees, 28 programs, and providing services in every school district throughout Stanislaus and Merced County.

Services Offered

First Step Perinatal Substance Abuse

First Step is a drug and alcohol treatment program for pregnant, postpartum and parenting women and their children. The goal of the program is to assist and support women in developing positive parenting skills while learning to live a healthy, drug- and alcohol-free lifestyle.

Women with children who are under the age of 18 can participate in group and individual alcohol and drug treatment services. While attending treatment, the Child Development Center is available for care of children age five and under. The year-long program is designed in a multi-phase model. Advancement in the program is contingent upon meeting specific treatment goals, completion of assignments, and maintaining abstinence of drug and alcohol use at each phase.

Adult & Community Services

*Domestic Violence Treatment
This 52-week Domestic Violence Treatment program is designed to help participants understand violence, abuse, and the function of abuse in relationships. It promotes responsibility for behaviors and helps participants make positive changes in their lives.

*Anger Management Treatment
This innovative, strength-based Anger Management program is designed to support, educate, and motivate clients towards increasing their ability to handle frustration and conflict. Programs are available in durations of 16 and 52 weeks.

*Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange Program
These programs provide a safe, comfortable and relaxed environment for children to visit a non-custodial parent or be exchanged between parents in the presence of a neutral third party.

*Family Maintenance and Reunification
This program helps parents at risk of having their children removed from their home or helps reunite those whose children have been removed.

*Child Abuse Offender Treatment
Parents are ordered by the court to attend this program because of abuse, endangerment and/or neglect of their children.

Children's Services

*Children's Outpatient Counseling
This program provides mental health services to families with children ages 6-21 experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties. Services include assessment and evaluation, individual, group and family counseling, school consultation and advocacy; parent education groups, children's social skills groups and medication services when needed.

*Home Based Services
Home Based Services program provides an intensive, in-home, clinical program focused on reducing the risk of out-of-home placement and psychiatric hospitalization for children and transitional age youth. Services are delivered in the family home and include individual, parent and family counseling. Participants are referred by mental health providers in the community.

*Early Intervention
The Early Intervention Program provides comprehensive child and family counseling services to families with children from birth through five years of age. The primary goal of the services offered through the Early Intervention Program is to provide early identification and intervention to the child and family in order to prevent more serious problems later in the child's life.

We are a nonprofit organization. We could not continue to meet the needs of the numerous children and families who we serve each year, without the monetary and in-kind donations that we are fortunate enough to receive.
