Services Offered
Individual Therapy
Grace Counseling Center is dedicated to helping individuals - children, adolescents and adults - who need to develop more satisfying ways of meeting life's challenges. Therapists help individuals deal with problems such as anxiety and depression, difficult relationships, and family problems that have become too difficult for them to deal with alone. Therapists also help individuals who feel limited and who would like to get more out of their lives.
Couples Therapy
There is often a flow of unresolved feelings in many aspects of a couple's life. When we allow a dissonant feeling to resonate in our mind, it can grow into an uncontrollable source of anger and/or regret over some situation in life that has not been addressed.
Therapists at Grace Counseling Center work with couples to understand the sources of the dissonance that is creating conflict in their relationship. Each must learn to be willing and able to speak the truth to each other. Each needs to be open to hearing and understanding the pain in the relationship.
Learning how to be open and to hearing each other is a critical aspect of couples therapy.
Family Therapy
In a world that is increasingly impersonal, the therapists at Grace Counseling Center strive to provide individualized treatment to families.
Therapists focus on helping parents and children understand the source of what is creating tension in their relationship. Therapists may help parents allow room for mistakes in the family environment.
In helping families learn better communication skills, family members often find they can talk to each other more openly. Strengthened listening skills can enable understanding and empathy and as a result, a common bond among family members often emerges.
Youth Therapy
When daughters and sons are overwhelmed with anxiety or depression, the emotional, social and economic tension that families experience can be devastating. Therapists can support young people as they cope with complex issues in their day-to-day life.
Therapists can also provide support to parents who may feel overwhelmed to deal with these issues and problems.
Grace Counseling Center is a resource to families, schools, and the community.

Qualifying for assistance from New Jersey's program usually depends on the severity of your condition and financial circumstance. Read our full guide to New Jersey's program.
A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
