For those without insurance, LRMC staff can assist patients with enrollment in a qualified health plan and our sliding fee program. Our services are available at multiple conveniently located sites throughout Horry County. Since its opening, LRMC has evolved into a network of services located throughout Horry County. The health centers are conveniently located in Little River, Carolina Forest, Myrtle Beach, and Loris. In addition to traditional primary care, we provide dental, behavioral health, pharmacy services, and case management.

Behavioral Health - Feeling sad or hopeless? Anxious or worried? Not interested in things you usually like to do? Your mental health is an important part of your overall health. We know that medical and mental health conditions often go hand in hand, and each can affect the other. For this reason, we have available integrated behavioral health services for all medical patients at Little River Medical Center. This means that our behavioral health team will work closely with your primary care provider to offer complete coordinated care. Our behavioral health team consists of licensed social workers, psychologists, and counselors. They can offer assistance when habits, behaviors, stress, worry and emotional concerns about physical or other life problems interfere with daily life or overall health.

Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
