Services Offered
Domestic Abuse Support Our domestic abuse service offers support to individuals at risk of or living in a domestic abuse situation. This service will provide practical help and advice, and essential support for those who are at risk. In the casework support, which is 1:1 work, areas such as healthy relationships and boundaries, power and control, and general wellbeing will be covered.
Substance Misuse Services LGBT Foundation is part of Manchester Integrated Drug and Alcohol Service and offers support to LGBT individuals affected by drugs, alcohol and chemsex.

Sexual Health LGBT Foundation provides a range of sexual health services focused on sex positivity and sexual wellbeing, should you need us. We offer rapid HIV testing across Greater Manchester, one-to-one advice 'Let's talk about sex', group workshops and spaces, free condoms and lube, outreach stalls with a range of resources, and group play packs.
Helpline And Email Advice LGBT Foundation's Helpline Service provides thousands of hours of advice and support to thousands of people every year. * Need a supportive ear to listen to you? * Struggling with your mental health? * Feeling isolated? * Thinking about coming out? * Questioning your gender identity? * Need to know how to get an STI health check up? * Being harassed at work because of your sexual orientation or gender identity? * Need to report a hate crime?
Motiv8 LGBT Foundation is a delivery partner of the Motiv8 programme, providing a wide range of support services, raising awareness of Motiv8 to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities and providing bespoke sessions to increase self-confidence and self-esteem.
Motiv8 aims to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people including those who may be homeless, long-term unemployed, living with disabilities and health conditions, or drug and alcohol dependent. It aims to tackle the barriers that prevent people from accessing support with more opportunities for education and training, improved health and wellbeing services and better financial help.
Pop-In Service Our Pop-In Service aims to provide a safe and non-judgemental space for people to access flexible support. Our staff can offer support, information and advice on a range of issues which you may be finding difficult to deal with on your own.
The Pop-In service can act as a pathway into many of LGBT Foundation's services, including Talking Therapies, Befriending and Drug and Alcohol support. Similarly, we provide information about other services available to you in Greater Manchester and surrounding areas.
Talking Therapies Service LGBT Foundation has been providing a talking therapies service to the LGBT communities of the North West for over a decade.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
