Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program - CCMS' Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) is a voluntary service. Our PRP services are unique in that, unlike standard PRP services which only offer community based support, we offer onsite services for those youth who are exhibiting high risk behaviors and are at risk for involvement with both the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. Youth involved in our services participate in weekly onsite activities that focus on specific "wellness targets". In addition, community based services for children and adults, who need therapeutic supports and meet the eligibility requirements, are offered on-site and offsite. Adult PRP & Community Support CCMS has established rehabilitation services to support people with severe mental illness. We work diligently to ensure that the participants engage in therapy and other support services as they work toward recovery and independence. We work with clients to develop goals, improve daily living skills, maintain optimal mental health functioning, improve independence, and integrate them into the community. Rehabilitation staff will visit the individual onsite or at an off-site location in the community chosen by the individual that is convenient for their schedule.
Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) - Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is an evidence-based and community-based treatment program for children with complex clinical, social and educational needs who are "at risk" for out of home placement or returning from an out of home placement. The program is an intensive 3-5 month, home-based program that addresses all environmental systems that impact chronic, violent behaviors in youth ages 12-17.5 years. The MST treatment team focuses on youth homes and families, schools and teachers, neighborhoods and friends. The MST Therapist works with parents and other caregivers to target chronic, violent behaviors by teaching new ways of thinking about behavior and implementing plans to keep problem behaviors under control. Since 2003, CCMS has been funded by the Prince George's County Local Management Board through the Department of Family Services and the Department of Juvenile Services to provide MST services to Prince George's & Montgomery County families.
Substance Use Treatment Program - CCMS recognizes the social, emotional and psychological impact of substance use. We understand that substance use can affect an individual's the entire life, including, but not limited to, familial relationships, work performance, and community interactions. Specifically with adolescents, significant substance use may exacerbate behavioral challenges such as truancy, problems with authority, school performance and/or overall motivation.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
