Center for Trauma Counseling is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Licensed in Florida, we serve residents of Palm Beach County who suffer from symptoms and disorders associated with trauma-related events and experiences.
We provide prompt, effective and cost-affordable mental health services for children, adolescents, adults, elderly, families and groups. Nonetheless, we rely on funds from foundations and private donors to enable our center to help those in our community.

Services Offered
Center for Trauma Counseling performs four core services to address trauma and post traumatic issues that can affect your quality of life. These core Services Offered:*Evaluation and assessment *Individual and family services *Group therapy *Support groups
Evaluation and Assessment Our mental health counselors evaluate and assess the mental health of each client. We identify and tailor the best course of action to help you recover and heal from the trauma. And we encourage you to help yourself create the life you choose.
Individual and Family Counseling We provide counseling sessions for individuals and families. Each session runs 50 minutes and up to 90 minutes for EMDR depending on your condition and needs. Our mental health counselors generally see clients once per week or more if necessary based on your unique needs.
Group Therapy We also provide group counseling sessions. We structure each session to address mental, emotional and physical issues from trauma. This may include: *Relationships *Self-discovery *Depression and failure *Grief, financial and/or personal loss and powerlessness *Lifestyle management, starting over and making healthy choices *Abuse and abandonment
Support Groups Center for Trauma Counseling also provides services for support groups throughout the community. We have found that support groups can speed up the healing process following traumatic events. Our support group services focus on serving: Military veterans, particularly those returning from war*Post-traumatic stress disorders Trauma related impairments Major illnesses and surgery related trauma Victims of crime and violence Gender specific concerns Living challenges
Fees and Payment
Center for Trauma Counseling offers a sliding scale fee schedule to help you receive the care you need at a cost you can afford. However reduced fee mental health services are available on a limited basis.

We are able to serve you as long as you meet our criteria and we have sufficient amounts of contributions to our organization.
We accept payment by cash, check or credit card. If you have insurance that covers mental health services, please call our office at 561-444-3914 to discuss.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
