With 75 years of experience, Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services transforms lives by providing quality mental health care and substance use treatment in communities where stigma or poverty limit access. From 11 sites and in nearly 100 schools, the agency helps almost 100,000 adults and children throughout Southern California each year. Its Suicide Prevention Center - the first in the nation to provide 24/7 crisis counseling - receives over 80,000 calls on its Crisis Line annually and provides support groups for people who have lost loved ones to suicide or have attempted it.
Outpatient Mental Health Services for Children and Families Outpatient mental health services, using Evidence-Based Treatment practices, are offered for children and youth from birth to 20 years old. Children and youth with attention and behavior problems, exposure to trauma, anxiety, mild to severe depression, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders and other mental health issues can receive individual, group and family therapy as well as case and medication management.
Intensive Mental Health Services for Children Children and families who need temporary, intensive mental health services - Full Service Partnership (FSP) and Field-Capable Clinical Services (FCCS) - receive counseling and other services in their own homes or community centers. Clients and families become more stable when they learn to develop coping skills, identify new ways of functioning and connect with supportive resources.
Youth Substance Abuse Prevention and treatment services are available to adolescents and their families. Services include individual counseling, family counseling, alcohol and other drug (AOD) education and family education groups. Services meet Court-ordered and Probation requirements. Youth are screened to determine the appropriate level of care based on their substance use involvement; mental health services are offered when indicated.
