Legacy was formed in 2005 as a result of the merger of two leading Houston area community organizations-Montrose Clinic and The Assistance Fund-that had both been providing Houston and the Harris County area with quality health care and medication services for nearly 30 years.

Behavioral Health

Legacy's Behavior Health Services offer assessment, medication management, therapy, and psychological testing for all patients. They're comprehensive and caring, and reflect our vision of connecting our communities to health every day, in every way.

Our diverse team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists treat a broad range of conditions, including but not limited to:
-Depression
-Bipolar disorder
-Anxiety schizophrenia
-Attention deficit disorders
-Autism spectrum disorders
-Developmental delays
-Learning disabilities

We also recognize that sometimes keeping a healthy mind and body means assistance needs to extend to other areas of life, like school, work, housing, and the ability to support oneself. Our Clinic Social Work team is available to provide comprehensive services including resource linkage, school advocacy, and connection to immigration and legal resources, just to name a few.

Fees and Payment

Legacy accepts most health insurance plans including HMO/PPOs, Medicaid, Medicare and CHIP. We also offer programs to lower the cost of health care services. If you have an insurance plan, please show us your card at registration so we can check your information. If you do not let us know about your coverage, you will be charged for past visits. For patients with a plan that needs a primary care provider (PCP) to be listed, either Legacy or a Legacy provider must be your PCP with your plan.

To apply for financial help, you will need to meet with one of our staff to determine your eligibility, and supply proof of your identity, income, and other information. Ask for more information at our front desk or call 832-548-5223, and we will be happy to help you.

Patients who do not qualify for these programs can receive a medical visit for a lower rate based on your income and family size. While our goal is to provide affordable care for all our patients, payment must be made at the time of service. Not having payment at the time of service may result in your appointment being rescheduled.
