Center for Assessment and Treatment is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit mental health agency. It was established in 2009 to help individuals, like you, live healthier more fulfulling lives. We offer individual, couples, and family psychotherapy, medication evaluation and management, and psychological evaluation services. We treat individuals across the lifespan using a variety of therapeutic modalities.

Services Offered
Psychotherapy Therapy is the cornerstone of treating mental health conditions and is at the heart of what we provide. Depending on what you are struggling with, the therapeutic approach may differ, but rest assure, we utilize a variety of empirically supported interventions to help you get your life back on track. We offer couples, family, and individual therapy across the lifespan. Medication Psychotropic medication can be an essential component or helpful adjunct to treatment. It has proven to be effective to treat a variety of mental health conditions. While the goal is always to minimize this intervention, at times, it is necessary for therapy to be optimally effective. We offer this service to adults (age 18 and older).
Assessment Having a more definitive diagnosis can go a long way for treatment, and sometimes an evaluation may be necessary for a third party (e.g. school district). We offer comprehensive psychological evaluations to assist in answering a variety of referral questions by utilizing the most up to date, clinically validated, reliable instruments.
Fees and Payment
We currently accept Medicaid/NJ Family Care (all HMO's). For those who are without insurance or who have a high deductible and cannot afford our rate, we have a sliding scale. This is s 501 (c) 3 nonprofit mental health agency.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
