Services Offered
Bradley Counseling Center - Provides various outpatient services to the Lake Villa and surrounding communities, including our satellite office in Gurnee. Our staff is made up of mental health professionals with various degrees, specialty areas, and levels of licensure. In addition, we are nationally accredited by the American Psychological Association as a training site for doctoral level interns in clinical psychology and we offer other internship opportunities for students pursuing a master's degree within the human services field. All of our therapists work to collaboratively to understand your unique situation and help you identify ways to achieve your goals for a balanced life.
As a part of Allendale Association, we have access to an array of resources which has enabled us to pursue excellence and innovation in the care, education, treatment and advocacy for children, youth and their families. One such innovation is our REStArTSM (Relational Re-Enactment Systems Approach to Treatment) model which is an evidenced-based comprehensive systems-approach to treatment with youth who struggle with emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
Bradley Counseling Center therapists have a broad range of experience and are able to help you with many of life's challenges, including: * Depression * Anxiety * ADHA/attention issues * Impulsivity and hyperactivity * Anger management * Trauma *Adjustment disorder (i.e. divorce, job loss, etc.) * Grief and loss * Family conflict * Couples/relationship issues * Stress management * Behavior challenges (home/school)
Services are provided to children, adolescents and adults and include: * Individual, family or couples therapy * Psychological testing * Diagnostic assessment * Anger management evaluations * Anger management skill building program * Therapeutic mentoring
In-home or in-school therapy is also available for youth with Medicaid who are unable to meet in the office.
Fees and Payment
Bradley Counseling Center is an "in network" provider with several commercial insurance companies and is also Illinois Medicaid certified provider for youth under age 18.
Costs of services are based on your individual insurance coverage (including deductible and co-pays) and may vary according to the service provided i.e. therapy, psychological testing, groups, etc. Our client account specialists will assist you in verifying your insurance benefits as well as determining if you have a co-pay and how much it is.
Self-pay options are also available, and can be discussed further upon request. For qualifying families, fees may be reduced according to a sliding scale. All fees are due at the time of service. We accept all forms of payment including cash, checks, credit cards, as well as HSA and flexible spending cards.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
