This type of service is often referred to as Telehealth, Telemedicine, or Telepsychiatry; secure equipment allows you and your provider to see and hear each other and communicate in real time. A staff member is available at all times to manage the Telehealth equipment, as well as ensure safety and security. These services do not require any special scheduling or referral process, and CFR staff are available to help you learn more about Telehealth services during our regular office hours.
Detoxification Services - Sometimes the first step on the road to recovery is physical detoxification of the body from alcohol and/or other drugs. This process can be physically and emotionally stressful for the newly recovering person and worrisome for loved ones. The highly trained medical staff at Community and Family Resources understand the detoxification process can be challenging. The Nursing Staff that monitor this process are supervised by our Medical Director and are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These experienced professionals initiate the healing process by providing medical supervision as well as the nurturing acceptance that is so crucial in the early stages of withdrawal.
Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Services - Outpatient services focus on integrating people back into their families, jobs, and communities following residential treatment. Outpatient treatment is also available for individuals not requiring the intensive level of service offered in a residential/inpatient setting. This treatment format allows individuals to live at home, to work, and to care for themselves and their family while receiving support in remaining drug and alcohol free. Substance use disorders affect the whole family in very destructive ways. The cycle must be broken before recovery is possible.

Problem Gambling Services - Problem gambling has been described as one of the most deniable, most hidden addictions. You cannot smell gambling on the breath of its victim and there may be no obvious outward signs of the havoc being wreaked. Despite this cloud of secrecy, its devastation is far reaching. Community and Family Resources understands the insidious nature of this disease and has trained professional counselors who understand the pain it causes. Symptoms of this illness are financial ruin, physical problems, mental losses, and emotional devastation. Problem Gambling is just as real and just as devastating as addiction to drugs and alcohol.
Inpatient / Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Services - People entering treatment for drug and alcohol dependence need a place that will offer education, support their efforts, and provide encouragement to interrupt the cycle of addiction. Community and Family Resources offers residential treatment opportunities and programming to help clients complete each step of the recovery process. Individualized treatment plans include group therapy, individual counseling, education, and recreation activities to help clients make the transition to a sober and drug-free lifestyle. A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
