The Child Center is a non-profit human services agency that has been offering a continuum of psychiatric, therapeutic and special education programs throughout Lane County since 1971 and in Central Oregon since 2011.

Outpatient Program

The Child Center's Community-based Outpatient Programs focus on individuals with emotional, behavioral and mental health disorders, and their families.

Our outpatient programs are for individuals who are experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges that are having an effect on their day to day life. They may be experiencing depression or anxiety, struggling with issues stemming from physical or sexual abuse, or learning to cope with major life transitions.

Our Outpatient Program now offers a Downtown Office in Eugene, Located at 199 E. 5th Street, Suite 29.

*These services are only provided to children and adolescents. Consultation is available to each child's school to share treatment information and provide support. Therapy can be provided in a child's school or other community locations convenient to the child or family. Parent involvement in therapy is an important part of treatment for children and adolescents.

Intensive Outpatient Services and Support (IOSS)
IOSS Intensive School Based Programs

The Intensive School Based Program provides a specialized and individualized set of in-home and community based mental health services that are delivered in the most normal and least restrictive setting, the child's home and at a public school.

This program offers an integrated treatment and education program geared towards elementary aged children, ages 5-13 who have severe mental, emotional and behavioral disorders and who have been identified through a mental health assessment as needing this level of care.

Individual therapy, group therapy and individualized academic program are provided at two locations; one each in the Bethel and Springfield districts. Families receive a full array of medically appropriate services as identified in their Service Plan, including but not limited to crisis prevention and intervention, care coordination, case management, individual, group and family therapy, psychiatric services, skills training, family support services, Child and Family Team treatment and Wellness services.

The Child Center's Intensive School Based Program provides services to children whose primary handicapping condition, at the time of admission, is diagnosed to be severe mental, emotional and behavioral disorder as determined by an individualized comprehensive assessment.

Intensive Community School-Based Day Treatment

The Child Center's Intensive Day Treatment Program provides integrated psychiatric day treatment and specialized education services to children between the ages of 3 and 12. This is for children with a severe emotional, behavioral or mental health disorder, when less-intensive mental health services aren't enough.

Mental Health Assessment

The Child Center offers comprehensive Mental Health Assessments for children and adults who are experiencing difficulties at home, school or in the workplace that include but are not limited to:
* Family conflict
* School failure
* Disciplinary issues
* Foster care placement
* Self-harming behaviors
* Emerging mental health concerns
* Persistent Mental Health Concerns

Fees and Payment

The cost of services may be covered by a variety of sources. We can bill the Oregon Health Plan as well as most private insurance companies. For individuals who don't have health insurance, our community health workers are available to help you find the best insurance options for you and your family. We also accept direct payment on a sliding scale.
