At CHD, we believe in strong families, healthy communities, and human potential.
Our Mission
The Center for Human Development (CHD) provides a broad range of high-quality, community-oriented human services dedicated to promoting, enhancing, and protecting the dignity and welfare of people in need.
Celebrating Differences
At CHD, inclusion isn’t just a policy – it’s a daily practice.
Multicultural, multilingual, and fluent in sign language, CHD is a reflection of those we serve.
Our non-discrimination policies include sexual orientation and gender identity. Our diversity training includes candid discussions of race, gender, ethnicity, and LGBTQ+ issues.
We celebrate diversity in employees, participants, and ourselves and are always working to enhance our cultural awareness.
We all struggle with challenges that affect our mood, emotions, and overall well being. Sometimes, we need help getting to the root of the issues in order to heal past traumas, repair relationships, manage stress, and create a more fulfilling life.
“We can help you.”
At CHD, you’ll find caring mental health therapists who’ve devoted years of their lives to understanding and helping people in pain.
Our specialized training means we can help children, adolescents, adults, seniors, and families with a variety of issues, including addiction recovery. All of the CHD Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinics offer treatment, services, and care coordination for individuals affected by substance use disorder, including individuals with court involvement.
We speak many languages, including Spanish, Russian, German, and Vietnamese and can even arrange to see you in your home or other convenient setting.
We offer counseling, therapy, medication management, and more in neighborhood locations throughout Western Massachusetts.
No individual or family will be denied access to services due to inability to pay. CHD offers a discounted/sliding fee schedule based on family size and income.

Do you know the reason they are not accepting clients?
