Outpatient Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counseling
Syntero provides evidenced based therapeutic treatment and counseling services to adults. A specialized staff of master's level clinicians is trained in a variety of treatment modalities that help individuals, couples, and families deal with substance use disorder , trauma, grief and loss, anger management and other difficult behavioral health issues. The goal of our services is to empower individuals to manage effectively, improve their quality of life, and promote happier, healthier lives.
Case Management
Syntero offers case management services for adults that are community based and adapted to the individual needs of the client. These services are for Franklin, Delaware and Morrow County residents who are Medicaid eligible or uninsured. Case management services for adults can include: mental health and addiction education/support, parenting/childcare issues, anger management, budgeting and finances, housing, life skills, education, employment and social supports. The goal of Syntero's case management services is to help individuals reduce the barriers that prevent them from reaching self-sufficiency.
Intensive Outpatient for Substance Use Disorder (SUD)
Syntero offers an intensive outpatient program for adults that are struggling with addiction and behavioral issues. This program is designed to help those adults in early recovery who have experienced ineffective past treatments. The program is evidenced based and proven effective in maintaining long-term sobriety through a matrix model. Syntero's IOP is facilitated by licensed counselors specializing in addiction treatment. Most private insurance, Medicaid, EAPs, and private pay are accepted.
Integrated Care
Syntero and PrimaryOne Health offer primary healthcare services at its Dublin location as well as PrimaryOne's clinic on Agler Road. This access to consolidated healthcare services improves the health status of clients and families through the integration of mental health, substance abuse, and primary care services in one location. Current clients as well as community members are eligible for primary care services.
For Grief, Loss & Trauma
Outpatient Counseling Services
Syntero has licensed professionals who specialize in the treatment of individuals who have experienced grief, loss, or trauma. These situations can have a deep and profound effect on an individual over a long period of time - requiring additional professional support. The goal of treatment is to support individuals while equipping them with the proper skills and tools to manage their emotional reactions and its impact in a healthy, positive way.
Widow and Widower Support
Through older adult professional services and several specialized support groups, Syntero provides support for widows and widowers. Aging presents specific challenges for individuals, and the loss of a spouse or partner can be particularly difficult. Trained and compassionate clinicians are available to help older adults navigate and cope with this especially difficult time in life.
Dublin Methodist Hospital On-Call Team
Syntero has been providing 24/7 psychiatric crisis assessments in the Emergency Department at Dublin Methodist Hospital since its opening in 2008. Members of the team are contacted by hospital personnel and respond immediately. Patients present with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, loss, extreme intoxication, psychotic episodes, suicidal or homicidal thoughts, or other at risk mental health issues. Syntero professionals provide assessments and make recommendations to hospital staff regarding discharge planning, on-going treatment, or other necessary resources, linkages, and support.
Community Crisis Response Team
Syntero's CCRT is comprised of licensed professionals trained in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) who respond to a variety of traumatic situations in the community, the schools, and local businesses. The goal of the team is to reduce trauma by providing education, resources, debriefing, and support to enable effective coping after a traumatic event. Critical incidents can cause intense emotional reactions in people exposed to the event. Syntero's CCRT responds with the goal of empowering individuals with the tools to effectively cope with the traumatic event.
Fees and Payment
Syntero accepts a number of payer sources including private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, self-pay, and a sliding fee scale for uninsured Franklin, Delaware and Morrow County residents. Syntero will make every effort to verify your benefits and match you with the appropriate provider. It is your responsibility to make sure the provider you see is in-network with your insurance. Please check with your insurance company regarding coverage, co-pays, and deductibles on services sought prior to your first appointment. Private insurance providers may be limited.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
