Services Offered
Consumer Admission/Crisis Services - Staff are available to screen new consumers for treatment. Referrals are accepted from hospitals, medical facilities, and other sources. Anyone requesting services may call for information concerning treatments provided. Anyone who walks in to the mental health center will be seen by a qualified staff member for evaluation and recommendations. If services appear warranted by CED Mental Health, the consumer will be scheduled for a screening appointment with a qualified staff member to determine the most appropriate treatment and/or referred to other community caregivers. A 24-hour emergency call system for crisis intervention, staffed by a qualified staff member, provides phone counseling and appropriate intervention.
Adult Outpatient Services - Outpatient Services are provided to consumers for a variety of reasons. Outpatient services focus primarily on recovery and problem resolution. Short term therapy may be provided for situational problems, and crisis intervention. Additionally, medication may or may not be an aspect of treatment services. A physician's medical assessment may also be provided. Adult outpatient services are provided for adults aged 19 and older.
Adult Intensive Day Treatment - Adult Day Treatment Programs provide specialized treatment for consumers who need to be seen more frequently than outpatient services can provide. Consumers who at-tend the Day Treatment Program may benefit from structured socialization, relaxation, coping techniques, and education about their mental disorder. Consumers attend 3 to 5 days per week for assistance in managing their illness.

Substance Abuse Treatment - Substance Abuse professionals are available to provide counseling and other services for consumers living in Cherokee, Etowah and Dekalb Counties. Our offices are open 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Services will be offered to those consumers who have been assessed and determined to be appropriate for specific services.
Fees and Payment
We accept various insurance and payment option such as Cash or self-payment, Medicaid, State financed health insurance plan other than Medicaid, Private health insurance, Military insurance (e.g., TRICARE), Federal, or any government funding for substance abuse programs, we also offer a sliding fee scale program which is based on income and other factor. We are also a nonprofit agency.

Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
