Founded in 1980, Jewish Family Services has evolved from an agency serving Jewish Russian immigrants, seniors, and the financially needy to one that provides a full range of counseling and social service assistance to the entire Greater Charlotte community.

Jewish Family Services provides comprehensive integrated social services that help members of our community in the most effective compassionate way possible, providing people of all ages, religions and socio-economic backgrounds with the encouragement and tools they need to become productive and self-reliant.

Emotional Health and Well-Being
The therapists at the Counseling Center at JFS are sensitive to issues of faith, while providing high-quality, confidential therapy for people of all ages and income levels. Our licensed therapists access a wide range of therapeutic methods to meet the specific needs of those we serve, with the goal of developing problem-solving skills and long-term solutions. Whether you are facing divorce, anxiety, illness, unemployment, or one of life's other stressors, our therapists will work with you and your family to bring about needed change and long-term solutions. Our expert services, delivered with compassion and insight, provide the confidence and assistance you need to feel more control of your life and regain a positive direction.

Senior Management
Jewish Family Services seeks to maintain the independence and dignity of senior adults, while keeping them connected to Jewish traditions and the community through programs that address the mental and emotional challenges of aging.

Crisis Response and Assistance
Working directly with individuals and families who are facing obstacles, Jewish Family Services empowers people to identify and overcome their barriers to self-sufficiency through individual action plans, recommendations and referrals.

Fees and Payment

JFS offers many services to clients at no fee, including case management, support groups, senior outreach, many workshops, and more. The only services that do have fees are therapy and some classes and workshops.

JFS does take insurance for therapy services. Jewish Family Services is an in-network provider for Aetna, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Magellan and NC HealthChoice. We also accept Medicare and Medicaid. Clients of all faiths are welcome. Reduced fees may be available.
