The Samaritan Center has been saving lives, healing emotional wounds and giving hope to individuals and families for over 40 years. The Center's mission is to improve the mental, physical, and spiritual health of children and families in Central Texas.

Mental Health Services

Individuals
Individual therapy (also called "counseling" and "psychotherapy") involves working one-on-one with a trained therapist in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. Our intake specialists will match you with a therapist best suited to meet your individual needs. At the Samaritan Center, we welcome people from different races, sexual orientations, and religions.

Cognitive behavioral therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a common type of talk therapy (psychotherapy). You work with a mental health counselor (psychotherapist or therapist) in a structured way, attending a limited number of sessions. CBT helps you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.

Children & Adolescents
Children and teens are not immune to the stressors of life. Therapy may benefit children and teens in a variety of ways, such as promoting healing from traumatic events, facilitating the expression of emotions, encouraging the development of positive decision-making skills, learning problem-solving skills, developing better social skills, and facilitating the communication of personal problems or concerns.

Families
At the Samaritan Center we believe that the path to wellness has to include the entire family. For that reason we offer counseling for couples and families. Couples and Family Counseling leads to better understanding, problem solving, and overall resiliency for the entire family.

Couples & Relationships
At the Samaritan Center we believe that the path to wellness has to include the entire family. For that reason we offer counseling for couples and families. Skilled therapists help family members express themselves in constructive ways, learn how to meet their needs and the needs of their loved ones, and create healthy boundaries for self and others.

Fees and Payment

Services are accessible and affordable for all, especially vulnerable populations such as uninsured or underinsured low-income families, and veterans struggling with the emotional wounds of war.

Thanks to generous donations, the Samaritan Center is able to provide counseling and integrative medicine services to Sarah and Greg for a small fee.

The Samaritan Center strives to serve everyone, regardless of ability to pay.
