Mental Health Services & Outpatient Services - Outpatient services are designed to assist the client with problems when hospitalization is not required. Clients receive outpatient services at all nine clinical offices to help the client better understand and cope with personal, family or vocational difficulties. This service, by far the largest of the Center, may be delivered to children or adults in an individual, group, or family setting and may include psychotherapy, diagnosis and evaluation, medication management, and home visits, depending on the individual needs of the client.
Case Management - Intensive Case Management is a supportive community-based service which seeks to maximize an individual's personal abilities and enable growth in some or all aspects of a person's vocational, residential, social and health related environments. Priority is placed o providing personal support and guidance in helping the person acquire and use comprehensive resources in his or her natural community.
Anger Management - EMCMHC is now offering a 12 week/40 hour pyschoeducational Anger Management course facilitated by Licensed clinicians who have recognized the immense need of having an accessible and affordable Anger Management group that will meet the requirements of those individual's mandated and/or court ordered to complete an Anger Management program, but also learn to manage anger effectively, stop violence or threat of violence, and develop self-control over thoughts and actions. Most importantly we want to provide a safe and healthy environment for those who have been while receiving support from peers as well as those professional's facilitating the group.
Community-Based Psychiatric Recovery Services - EMCMHC provides services in home, school, workplace, and community settings for adults with severe and disabling mental illness and youth with serious emotional disturbance. Services are provided by trained mental health personnel under the direction of and according to individualized treatment plans prepared by licensed professionals. These services are provided outside of normal clinical or mental health program settings and are designed to assist individuals in developing the skills, behaviors, and emotional stability necessary to live successfully in the community. Community-based psychiatric rehabilitation and support services are provided on a face-to-face basis with the client's family members, teachers, employers or other key individuals in the client's life when such contacts are clearly necessary to meet goals established in the client's person centered plan of care.
Comprehensive School and Community Treatment Program (CSCT) - Comprehensive School and Community Treatment (CSCT) Programs are intended to promote student's positive involvement in community, school, and home while affording the opportunity to receive specialized mental health services in the least restrictive treatment environment possible. Quality CSCT programs reduce risk factors while focusing on the enhancement of protective factors in the lives of youth, by partnering with local school districts.
Community Rehab & Support Services (Day Treatment) - CRSS is provided to the client who requires more services than can be provided on an outpatient basis, but less than full hospitalization. EMCMHC operates three CRSS programs located in Sidney, Glendive and Miles City. Clients in this program are involved in a wide range of therapeutic services including socialization activities, group therapy, training in community living, occupational therapy, supportive therapy and recreation.
Crisis/Emergency Services - Emergency services are available to provide emergency intervention for individuals or families experiencing a crisis situation or a severe emotional disturbance. Emergency services are delivered 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are available after office hours and on weekends by contacting the crisis line in Miles City, Glendive, or Glasgow and by calling the Eastern Montana Mental Health Center offices in the satellite locations.
Group Home - Eastern Montana Community Mental Health Center operates two transitional care facilities for mentally ill adults in Miles City. These facilities are designed to provide 24 hour group living for clients who are unable to immediately return to independent living after they have experienced psychiatric illness.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
