Services Offered

Child, Adolescent & Family Therapy
At Ryther, our goal is to meet every child and family where they are with respect, genuine caring and a real determination to appropriately and effectively address underlying and presenting behaviors, issues and mental health concerns and diagnoses. Ryther child and family therapists work with clients to create a treatment plan with defined goals to be reviewed every 90 days. Therapists also work collaboratively with Ryther's team of psychiatrists and psychologists. Ryther also consults with schools and professionals on behalf of its clients.

Ryther employs evidence-based therapies including:
* Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): We help clients understand the connections and dynamics between thinking, feeling and behavior and we focus on specific issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma and parenting.
* Motivational Interviewing: We help clients discover their own reasons to make a positive and lasting change in their lives.
* Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT): We help rebuild the bond between children ages 2-7 and parents and teach parents new, more effective parenting skills that are especially effective with harder to raise children. Click here to learn more.
* DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) Skills: We help clients learn new communication, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and problem solving skills.

Group Therapy
Ryther's group solutions utilize effective, evidence-based techniques, including: Groups are offered in Seattle only at this time. To be eligible for any group, your child, adolescent or young adult must first be seeing a Ryther therapist.

DBT Skills Group & Therapy (Seattle only): This program is for teens (13-17) who want to increase skills to manage challenges with impulsivity, interpersonal relationships, regulating emotions as well as suicidal or self-harm behaviors. There are two groups meeting weekly in Seattle for six months. Requires joint involvement in individual weekly therapy.

Intensive Outpatient Mental Health DBT Program
This program is a good fit for youth who are experiencing suicidal ideation, self-harm, school avoidance/failure, chronic interpersonal deficits and low self-worth or have a history of hospitalization or residential treatment because of these issues are appropriate. This program is not appropriate for children who are highly aggressive or oppositional as well as those who have a low verbal ability or are moderately to severely developmentally delayed as the curriculum requires the ability to focus for a period of time and process verbal information relatively quickly and accurately.

Aspiring Youth
For children, teens and young adults with Asperger's, ADHD, learning disabilities and other atypical neurological traits, Ryther's Aspiring Youth Program teaches social skills and provides community for both children and parents.

Teen Drug and Alcohol Assessments and Treatment
Ryther provides an array of programs designed to address the individual needs of adolescents using drugs and/or alcohol and their families, as well as those with co-occurring mental health issues. We offer the Standard Drug and Alcohol Assessment as well as psychiatric, substance abuse and mental health assessments. Programs include Level 1 Outpatient Counseling, Seven Challenges Groups, and Ryther's Co-Occurring Program for those struggling with both a mental health and substance use disorder.

Fees and Payment

Here at Ryther, we like to offer an array of payment options to meet your financial needs. You have the option of having Ryther bill your insurance company if Ryther is an in-network provider, you may choose to pay out-of-pocket in which case we offer a sliding fee scale for those who qualify, or for children who are insured through state Medicaid we can accept their plan as long as it's through King County.
