Each year we grant Top Non-Profit Badges to agencies based on these criteria:
Our aim is to guide our users to agencies most likely to be able to help. In addition to the above criteria we also exercise editorial discretion with our choice based upon our experience. We take our responsibility and objectivity seriously. We don't accept any form of payment from providers for this honor.
The Pro Bono Counseling Project is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1991 to provide free mental health care to individuals, families and couples who live and/or work in Maryland who can not receive care from any other source. The Pro Bono Counseling Project links clients with therapists for counseling -- it does not provide medications or medication resources.
The Pro Bono Counseling Project serves a wide variety of client needs, including family and couples issues, anxiety, problems with self-esteem and social interactions, eating disorders, adjustment to terminal illness, grief, separation and divorce, physical and sexual abuse and other forms of violence.
Please note: The address is a mailing address only. We do not work with clients in our office, but conduct phone interviews to connect clients with volunteer clinicians and other necessary supportive services.
FREE to those who are financially eligible.
This is a non-profit agency.
One quick last question. Who was seeking counseling today?
Do you know the reason they are not accepting clients?
