At Recovery Scotland, we believe recovery is possible for all and that with the right support, everyone can reach their full potential. If you or a family member are affected by addiction and associated mental health problems, we can provide trauma informed, solution focussed and person-centred support. We offer a range of activities and services including our local peer-led recovery communities, physical and mental health wellbeing initiatives, education and employability programmes and more.
We provide a range of counselling, community rehabilitation and peer development services for people affected by substance misuse to help them on their recovery journey.
Counselling
We can provide individual counselling that can help you change your behaviour, thoughts and feelings about yourself in relation to your substance misuse.
We treat everyone on an individual basis and with respect. We do not seek to persuade anyone to accept a particular view of substance misuse although we believe that by focusing on a person's behaviour, thoughts and feelings about themselves in relation to their substance misuse that can be successful in helping people to recover from substance misuse.
Counselling can also help to
- Identify underlying problems
- Encourage a person to become motivated in trying out new behaviours
- Recognise risky situations and avoid relapse
- Develop coping skills in making changes
- Identify resources within the community that can sustain change
Community Rehabilitation
We can support you to gain personal, social and professional skills through a combination of group work and individual support. We can also help you to gain volunteering, educational and training opportunities and obtain a qualification through Forth Valley College.
We provide several group work based programmes with individual support for people who wish to make major changes to their lives. We use several techniques and interventions to help
- Improve low self esteem
- Increase self confidence
