Community Development Authority - Home Care Program - Weleef
Weleef is a program that provides care and improves the quality of life of senior citizens UAE nationals who live alone in Dubai. Weleef runs regular training courses on best practices to professionals who, in turn, offer a range of social services to the senior citizens at their place of residence, with the objective of assisting them in leading a more meaningful and independent lifestyle by better integrating them into their homes and their community.
Services provided by the program include social, cultural, rehabilitation, self-care and recreational services, as well as following-up on the needs of the senior citizens with parties providing healthcare services, etc... Services are provided at or outside the place of residence of the senior citizens enrolled in the program within an approved rehabilitation plan.
Services also include providing alarm systems developed by the General Department of Smart Services of Dubai Police. These systems ensure a rapid response to any expected risk that might threaten the life or safety of an senior citizens. At a click of a button, an senior citizens can ask for help and the police or ambulance will respond within minutes.
Eligibility Criteria
- Citizens of the Emirate of Dubai
- From the age of 60 years and over.
- Seniors should has no children.
- Must be living alone or with a caregiver.

Cultural Services
Keeping the senior citizens abreast of the latest local and international news and developments; and implementing programmes developed by specialists with a relevance to their individual needs and respective backgrounds.
Rehabilitation Services
Providing training for the senior citizens on how to use necessary household electronic devices and electrical appliances.
Self Care Services
Taking care of the senior citizens' personal hygiene and keeping their environment healthy and clean.
Recreational Services
Sharing hobbies and pastime activities of the senior citizens.
Coordination Services
Learning and conveying the needs of the senior citizens to concerned parties so that they can satisfy those needs and follow them up.
Raising-Awareness and Guidance Services
Educating the senior citizens on their rights and services available to them, and the importance of maintaining their health and social standing within the society.
