Our state-of-the-art clinics are open to the public and provide a range of personalised, first-class healthcare services across allied health, dentistry and psychology.
When visiting our clinics, you can choose to be treated by a highly experienced practitioner in our private clinics, or by supervised students at reduced rates in our student clinics.
New patients are welcome, and most services don’t require a referral.
Our clinics also provide a valuable opportunity for students to gain real-life clinical experience in their chosen career.

Based on our Mt Gravatt and Gold Coast campuses, Griffith University provides confidential and affordable psychology and counselling services to those in need. Our clinic is open to the public and no referrals are required.
When visiting our student clinic, you can be assured that you'll receive the latest evidence-based treatments from passionate individuals who are committed to getting your health back on track.
Our interns are Provisionally Registered Psychologists or counsellors in the final years of their studies. They are under strict supervision at all times by highly experienced Clinical Psychologists and fully qualified counsellors.
For individual therapy, you can choose between structured treatment programs, or flexible programs where your therapist will work with you to identify modules that best suit your needs.Â
All ages (child, adolescent, adult) are welcome. No diagnosis or referral is necessary.
Our counselling service can help with a range of concerns or problems. We aim to help you find resolutions in a positive way by helping you clarify the issues, explore options, develop strategies and increase self-awareness.
We can help with: -depression and anxiety -work or study-related worries -career change or uncertainty -feeling overwhelmed or not coping with difficulties in life -grief and loss -stress management -sexuality and gender identity issues -family and relationship issues -coping with life changes such as illness, career and family -pre-existing mental health concerns.
We offer a range of group therapy options for adults and children.
The adult programs focus on practicing Mindfulness as well as dealing with the struggles of daily life. Our child programs focus on helping children deal with anxiety and improve their social skills.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
