MANAV Foundation is a charitable trust and was registered in 2004. it is not-for-profit & non-governmental and does not depend on government grants or funds. MANAV foundation works with different marginalized populations. Its foremost and most prominent undertaking is the Manav Mental Health Project in Mumbai which has several mandates. These are Intervention, Networking, Training and Outreach.
Several facilities and activities are undertaken under these mandates. the foundation runs a therapeutic rehabilitation centre for adults recovering from Mental Illness, a counselling centre for people needing support for various issues, support groups for caregivers of people living with Schizophrenia & other Mental Illnesses as well as a support group for people who have recovered from a Mental Illness & are now functioning within the mainstream, a vocational training programme, and awareness and sensitization education programmes within the general population in order to eliminate the misconception and myths about Mental Illness.
