Fremantle Women’s Health Centre (FWHC) provides a range of health promotion, prevention and clinical services in the area of women’s health for women living in Fremantle, Melville and Cockburn regions, aged 16 and above.
Services include contraception, pregnancy, sexual health, fertility and vaginal health. Perinatal counselling services are available for women with a child aged 3 years and under to assist with their adjustment for parenting, as well as generalist counselling services.
We are committed to provide a welcoming environment with high quality, professional, affordable and accessible health services.
Creche facilities and interpreter services are available.
We aim to ensure that services and facilities are inclusive of all women regardless of age, ability, religion, culture, sexual orientation or socio-economic circumstances. We extend that welcome to culturally and linguistically diverse, transgender, non-binary and intersex members of the community.

Our experienced counsellors provide compassionate counselling, however, we are not a crisis support service.
We see clients for a range of issues including: -anxiety and depression -relationship difficulties -bereavement and loss -trauma -family and domestic violence -parenting concerns -low self-esteem -perinatal anxiety, depression and concerns -support for carers -and a range of other emotional issues.
Referrals are not necessary. You can simply phone us and leave your contact details with one of our friendly staff.
Short-term counselling of up to 10 sessions is available. Or you may prefer to be involved in one of the groups facilitated by one of our counsellors.
Fees and Payment
We offer a sliding scale of fees for counselling sessions, which takes into account your level of income. Fees can be negotiated or waived depending on your circumstances.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
